To celebrate the Establishment Day of the corporation, VNPT-Media held the opening ceremony of its first Sport Festival in 2018. The Sport Festival aimed at strengthening the bond and solidarity between the subsidiary units in the corporation. 

VNPT-Media's Sport Festival this year had the participation of 88 athletes, competing in 3 fields: ping-pong, badminton and tennis. This was the first time the corporation's Sport Festival contains more than one sport field. The result of the competitions was used to select the teams to join the Sport Festival of Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group. 

At 7:30 AM, the Sport Festival officially started. 5 units of the corporation competed in the three fields being table tennis, badminton and tennis, with various categories such as men's singles, men's doubles, doubles men and women, single women.

 

 

Giving the opening speech of the Sport Festival, Mr. Nguyen Van Nhan - Deputy Secretary of VNPT-Media's Party and Head of the organizing committee said: "The Sport Festival this time looks for exciting games in the spirit of solidarity, honesty and nobility. The Sport Festival will be a useful playground for VNPT-Media's staffs, and a chance for employees to improve their physical strength and health, thereby building the spirit of solidarity in the corporation, and encouraging employees to bring the enthusiasm of the games into daily work and strive to complete the corporation's business plan excellently". 

In the ping-pong field, 26 athletes competed in Men's Singles, Men's Doubles and Men and Women's Doubles. From the initial stage, the matches were fierce with close scoring, especially in Men's Double and Women's Doubles. Matches counted in rounds and teams who won 3 matches out of 5 total matches were rolled into the next round. The first prize of Men's Singles A belonged to Mr. Do Anh Tuan from MyTV Company; the first prize of Men's Singles B belonged to Mr. Le Quoc Long from the Division of Planning and Investment. The first prize of Men's Doubles B belonged to the pair Nguyen Xuan Hao - Bui Quang Trung from VNPT-Media Labor Union and Party Division; the first prize of Men and Woman's Doubles belonged to the pair Nguyen Thi Thanh Xuan - Vu Trung Thong from IPC Company.

 

 

The badminton field had 20 players registered to compete in the category Men and Women's Doubles. In Men's Doubles, 6 teams were divided into 2 groups: A and B, competing in rounds. The first and the second teams continued to semi-finals, and the two winner teams of the semi-finals reached the final match. Right in initial games, the athletes played their best, contributing many beautiful sport movements to satisfy the audience who came to cheer them. Making winning paths through exiting games, the pair Nguyen Viet Hung - Van Chung and the pair Ly Ngoc Hung - La Viet Tung met in the final. The final match was fierce, and eventually, the pair Nguyen Viet Hung - Van Chung won the first prize. In Men and Women's Doubles, the first prize belonged to the pair Luu Tuan Vu - Phan Thi Tam.

Coming to the Sport Festival to cheer for the teams, especially for the team of VAS Company, the group of fans shouted excitingly, raising two plates written "Winning in glory, Losing in spirit" and "VAS playing enthusiastically at our best". The cheer group also heated the atmosphere of the finals.

 

 

Miss. Phi Ngoc Linh from VAS Company shared, "VAS Company participated in the Sport Festival with the spirit of learning and connecting, so both athletes and fans bring sport passion here to compete and cheer".

 

 

Most exciting were Tennis matches which were divided into five groups and competed in rounds. The five first-prized teams of each group and the most distinguish three second-prized teams moved to the quarterfinals. Therefore, the teams competed with the determination in each group to get to the next rounds. The pair Nguyen Van Tan - Lu Ngoc Nhan and the pair Ngo Ngoc Toan - La Vu Lan reached the final. Even though both pairs were exhausted, they were determined and competed fiercely. In the end, the pair Nguyen Van Tan - Lu Ngoc Nhan won the tennis championship of VNPT-Media Corporation.

 

 

VNPT-Media's one-day Sport Festival not only expressed the high spirit of sports in exciting games but also promoted the spirit of solidarity between the corporation's companies and departments. Hopefully after the tournament, the athletes would continue to promote the spirit of sport and train daily to have good health, and thus, to contribute more to the development of VNPT-Media.
