On the morning of April 2nd 2018, Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) announced a series of important decisions, among which was the appointment of Mr. Duong Thanh Long, Deputy General Director of VNPT Technology to be the Acting General Director of VNPT Media Corporation (VNPT-Media). 

Mr. Duong Thanh Long was born in 1977. He graduated from Hanoi University of Science and Technology and had a master's degree in business administration. After being appointed, Mr. Duong Thanh Long will lead VNPT-Media in replacement of Mr. Ngo Dien Hy (the former General Director of VNPT Media who has just been appointed General Director of VNPT IT - a new core IT unit of VNPT Group).

Speaking at the announcement, Mr. Tran Manh Hung, President of VNPT Group, highly appreciated the professional capacity of Mr. Duong Thanh Long and hoped that in this new position, Mr. Long will do well what the former General Director of VNPT-Media, Mr. Ngo Dien Hy, had done in the past.

 

Mr. Duong Thanh Long expressed his duties as the Acting General Director of VNPT Media. 

 

With the establishment of VNPT IT Company, VNPT Group has established the group's main production pillars, including VNPT-IT - the mainstay of software and application production, Posteft - the mainstay of production in the IT field and VNPT Technology - the mainstay of electronic equipment production. According to Mr. Tran Manh Hung - VNPT Group's President, these units will be the key production pillars of VNPT Group, along with along with the infrastructure held by VNPT-Net, the business sector operated by VinaPhone, the content and value-added service production units held by VNPT-Media.

Expressing his new mission, Mr. Duong Thanh Long said he would work closely with VNPT IT to provide 4.0 technology-based services, as the current most important mission is to respond to the 4.0 industry revolution. The Group has to focus on digital convergence and provide 4.0 technology-based services.

"I hope that with the good cooperation from VNPT IT, VNPT VinaPhone, VNPT Net and the member companies of the Group, VNPT-Media will develop to a new level, inheriting the platform that the corporation's leaders have built. In the future, VNPT-Media will provide better, more unique and more personalized digital services," said Mr. Long.

VNPT Media Corporation (Abbreviation: VNPT - Media) was founded under Decision no. 89/QĐ-VNPT-HĐTV-TCCB dated May 08, 2015 signed by the president of Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group. The corporation's establishment was based on the re-organization of VASC Company, VNPT's Information and Public Relation Center, and the research & development units, digital content units, value-added units from VDC Company and VinaPhone.

VNPT-Media operates in the field of research and development, television service business, multimedia services, value-added services and information technology. The corporation has four subsidiaries: Television service development company (MyTV), Media service development company (IPC), Value-added service development company (VAS), VNPT-Media software development company (VNPT-Media Soft), along with functional departments and branches in the Central and the South of Vietnam.

Previously, VNPT Media Corporation had followed the right strategies to maintain and develop current services such as upgrading and improving the existing platforms of MyTV, as well as launching new software and products.
