VNPT-MEDIA determines to accomplish 2018 plans
17:29, 10/01/2018On January 5th 2018, Mr. Pham Duc Long, General Director of Vietnam Posts and Telecommunication Group and Mr. To Manh Cuong, Deputy General Director of the group attended the 2018 Planning Conference of VNPT Media Corporation (VNPT-Media).
According to the report at the conference, 2017 was a challenging year for VNPT-Media's services, especially for MyTV and Value Added Services due to market shortcomings and service limitations. However, during this year, the Corporation had followed the right strategy to maintain and develop these services, such as upgrading and improving existing MyTV platforms, launching new software and products such as the OTT TV service named MyTV NET.
For value added services, the corporation had constantly optimized and extended the capabilities of Big data-based services, deploying 24 new VAS services. Most remarkable were spotlight Big data-based services and vanguard content services like MyLBA, Myshopbrand, vinasale, Bolero teen... 2017 also marked the success of the Corporation in organizing, deploying and exploiting VAS Cloud system. During the year, VNPT Pay, Myhomework and MyEnglish services were offered to the market, bringing revenue and reputation to VNPT-Media. Especially, IT services with vnEdu services, VCKM software, VNPT-iOffice and platforms deployed for VNPT Group and for the Corporation still kept their strategic positions.

With continuous efforts, in 2017, the Corporation had exceeded its assigned plan. Specifically: VNPT-Media's total profit reached 141.7 billion VND, equivalent to 100.5% of the initial plan; Pre-tax profit on equity was 17.4%, equal to 100% of the initial plan; Average labor productivity reached 2,550 million VND per person; Average income per capita increased 6% in comparison to 2016; Total revenue for the whole year reached 1,415 billion VND, equivalent to 110% of the initial plan.
While presenting the Corporation's business strategy at the conference, Mr. Ngo Dien Hy, General Director of VNPT-Media said that in 2018, the Corporation is ready for the digital transformation phase with four specific objectives: Product conversion - Customer attraction - Operation Optimization - Strong Empowerment. For each service area, there will be specific goals, such as: MyTV Company transforms itself to change and develop, VNPT Media Software Company attracts more talents, enhances cooperation to speed up services, VAS Company goes ahead on the base of existing resources, IPC Company promotes efficiency in communication activities.
