On the morning of September 24, 2017, the Thanh Hoa Department of Education and Training organized a "Seminar on Information Technology (IT) and Communication Applications in Building Smart Schools." Attending the conference were Mrs. Pham Thi Hang - Provincial Committee member, Director of Department of Education and Training; Leaders of departments and agencies in Thanh Hoa province; Representatives of IT Department - Ministry of Education and Training; Representative leaders, IT staff of the Education and Training Department from 27 districts / towns / cities; Representatives of 91 schools in the provinces where  the project "Thanh Hoa - smart city" was applied; IT experts, scientists and enterprises.

The "Intelligence technology to build smart classroom" solution introduced at under the cooperation of VNPT Media Corporation (VNPT-Media) and VNPT-Thanh Hoa's Business Center had received much attention at the seminar.

"Application of Information Technology (IT), communication in building smart schools" is a project that the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province assigned to the province’s Department of Education to take the lead in piloting the intelligent education system in Thanh Hoa, in order to effectively carry out the State's undertakings and policies on fundamental and comprehensive renewal of education and training. This is also an important basis for the implementation of the project "Building e-government and developing intelligent city services in Thanh Hoa province in the period 2017-2020” of the provincial People's Committee.

 

The "Intelligent Technology for Developing Intelligent Schools and Classrooms" solution brought to the Conference a completely new educational model with the application of information technology to the teaching and learning process. In the presentation at the seminar, beside the overview knowledge of the solution model, the details of basic intelligent school and classroom building products for period 2017-2020; VNPT Media Corporation (VNPT-Media) also introduced supporting tools for teaching and self-learning as well as the plans and roadmap for product implementation in Thanh Hoa. This is one of the smart products that VNPT will focus on in the coming time to create a community-beneficial ecosystem for smart education.

 

The highlight of the Seminar was the demo and demonstration area of "Smart Edu" solution, which was a smart classroom model being developed and co-operated by VNPT and NTT Vietnam. This smart classroom simulated an IT application model that is being developed in Japan using modern technical equipment and multimedia content in teaching and learning in schools. With education supporting tools, the smart classroom model helped to enhance the two-way interactions between teachers and students, helping them to acquire knowledge more effectively. The class attracted the attention of a large number of guests, teachers, leaders and staff in the education sector. Many delegates, guests and educators had directly experienced the smart classroom demo. Exciting experience with the Smart Classroom model made it easier for participants and teachers to understand the usefulness and excellence of teaching activities when applying the modern paradigm.

It is expected that the smart school and classroom model will be applied across the province in three phases: pilot, multiplication and mass commercialization.
