In the afternoon of 23/09/2017, the Organizing Committee of the Vietnam Talent Awards 2017 organized the Startup Community Program in Da Nang with the topic "Artificial Intelligence Power in the 4th  Industrial Revolution".

This was an event among the talkshows of Vietnam Talents Awards 2017, which followed the exchanging workshop with the business community in Hanoi on August 05^th 2017 and in Ho Chi Minh City on August 28^th 2017.

VNPT "welcomes" Start up

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Tan - Deputy General Director of VNPT Media Corporation, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of Vietnam Talent Award 2017: Danang City is a dynamically developing region, one of the fastest growing cities in Vietnam, especially in the fields of tourism, agriculture and aquaculture. In addition, Danang has the advantages of urban sprawl, which creates favorable condition in term of market size.

Startups must accept challenges

Also in this workshop, Da Nang Starup Community had exchanged information with Mr. Tran Nguyen Vu, Director of IBM Vietnam Software Solutions. Vu was born in  Central Vietnam, so he wanted to inspire and share information with the Danang Startup community.

Considering himself a successful entrepreneur, Vu shares his own startup story. According to Mr. Vu, he started his business by producing a TV by himself and selling it to the market. Because he did not know how to call for capital, how to manage human resources, and how to deal with media, Vu was so exhausted financially that he had to shut down the business. However, Mr. Vu said that he started his career successfully as he learned many things through this experience: Startups must know how to call investment, how to manage personnel, how to work with media to be able to bring products to the market ....

Mr. Tran Nguyen Vu also said that in Vietnam, ideas are often not commercialized and difficult to commercialize. Therefore, Vu encouraged young people to participate in the competition Vietnam Talent Awards. The participants can find the support of VNPT for their ideas. And no other contest, media is focused as strongly as in this contest.

According to Vu, the ideas for starting a business are not far away but right around us. Specifically, Mr. Vu questioned: “Our country's agriculture is not much different compared to 20 years ago, although our country is an agricultural country. What ideas do you have to put technology into agriculture, help agriculture to grow?

Or do you have ideas to help patients to make appointments with doctors, or to follow up treatment regimen. Currently, Vietnam has many beauty salons but there is no business providing IT support for them in finding customers ...

What important is whether you see challenges or you see opportunities. Only through accepting challenges can you find opportunities. That’s the only path of successful startup.”
