In the series of the activities and talk shows of The Vietnam Talents Award 2017, Contest Committee held a workshop "The Fourth Industrial Revolution - Opportunity for Startup?" on the afternoon of August 5, at the Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

 

The program was attended by representatives of VNPT Group, School-boards of Hanoi University of Science and Technology and team leader of the winning team of Vietnam Talent Contest 2016 - author of the Semantic Analysis and Interactive Social Network Management (SMCC).

 

Talking about the role of the start-up community for the 4th Industrial Revolution which is mentioned frequently in the media in these days, Nguyen Huu Thai Hoa, Deputy Chairman of VNPT Strategic Advisory Council emphasized: "Entrepreneurs and start-up business is making huge opportunity to reach an global intelligent industry, the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution."

 

 

He also said that the intelligent infrastructure platform is now a big advantage for start-up businesses to be a bridge to bring the value of human knowledge to Vietnam, helping solve the problems of Vietnam. The fastest way to bring global smart solutions into Vietnam is through start-ups.

 

The next 10 years are expected to be the startup phase, but Mr. Thai Hoa stressed on that we need to  reposition the startup, have a plan to develop a startup basically otherwise the explosion will never happen.

 

New ideas and products can be developed directly on the VNPT system

 

When talk about the plan of VNPT to catch the 4th Industrial Revolution, Nguyen Van Tan - Deputy General Director of VNPT-Media Corporation, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Talent Organizing Committee 2017 said that we’ve still not had the most accurate definition of The 4th Industrial Revolution so far, however, that it refers to the introduction of higher levels of technology, higher creativity in all sectors of the economy. This is also the principle for VNPT to access and provide services. For example, developing smart solutions for governments; OSS systems, medical management systems, intelligent education management, and smart classes.

 

"VNPT is also continuing to focus on the research and development of platform technologies, such as image recognition technology, virtual reality technology for more active and innovative in creating new products and services." Mr. Tan said.

 

Along with that, according to Tan, based on new technologies, VNPT is analyzing customer data in order to offer new services that meet the needs of customers in a better way. "The foundation of VNPT is fully open, we are willing and eager to share with partners to work together to develop new products and services," Mr. Tan said.

 

 

 

About the information about VNPT's support for the authors,  authors' group participating in the Vietnam Talents Award, Mr. Tan said that apart from being a sponsor, a co-organizer of the award, VNPT is also a business. Therefore, VNPT is looking forward to potential projects,  in accordance with VNPT's field for jointly research and development.

 

For the startup community, VNPT representative said that as a telecommunications corporation is serving about 5.5 million fixed broadband subscribers and nearly 30 million mobile broadband subscribers, VNPT would like to cooperate with young people who have innovative products and services to enrich the products and services provided to their customers.

 

In addition to nearly 35 million current customers, VNPT has also strategic cooperation with many agencies and organizations in other localities and business community. In cooperation with VNPT, in addition to the opportunity to improve and develop their products, startups can jointly exploit that customer community, speed up the process of bringing products to market.

 

VNPT representative also said that in the future, the business process and investment strategies of VNPT will make the company become a great environment for creative products can be deployed quickly. For example, VNPT has invested greatly on broadband by building thousands of 4G stations to form a mobile broadband network with high intelligence. In addition, VNPT also has many intelligent solutions, platform technology ready to open for partners to develop on it.

 

When asked whether VNPT intends to establish an investment fund for technology startup idea, Deputy General Director of VNPT-Media Nguyen Van Tan said that VNPT has the resources to invest in these types of projects and cooperate to develop feasible ideas. VNPT Group is very desirable and very willing to meet the Award candidates to discuss the opportunity for cooperation.

 

The Vietnam Talent Award is initiated by Vietnam Association for Promoting Education, co-organized by VNPT Group and Dan Tri Newspaper. VNPT is also the main sponsor of the award during the past 12 years. The award recognizes and honors hundreds of talents in the fields of Information Technology, Applied Sciences, Medicine and the Environment.
