The workshop: "The Fourth Industrial Revolution - Opportunities for Startups?" is an event in the series of exchanges with the startup community organized by The Vietnam Talent Awards Organizing Committee, first started in Hanoi. The workshop, which featured practical and solution-based topic, was participated by well-known local and foreign speakers. The next destination of the event is Ho Chi Minh City - considered as one of the leading places in the startup movement in Vietnam.

In 2014, Ho Chi Minh City is among ten emerging market cities that CNN believes are the best places for people to launch and nurture a startup. This results from the creativity, openness and acceptance of change by city residents. According to severals experts, these all provide an opportune circumstances for Ho Chi Minh City to become a successful startup city.  First, Ho Chi Minh City has always been the best performing city of the country in terms of economic growth, where has the most settled concentrations of the most dynamic and innovative businesses in Vietnam. Secondly, the market size and business environment of Ho Chi Minh City is ideal enough for newborn and established startups.

One of the essential factors for starting a business is the quality of human resources. This is a strength of Ho Chi Minh City as the city has many prestigious universities with well-trained graduates, attracting high quality human resources from different parts of the country. Experts assume that this powerful human resource could play different roles in the formation of a startup ecosystem: business founders, start-up employees, researchers, investors.

In addition, Ho Chi Minh City is also a source of investment attraction, where focuses new business models and where international exchanges and cooperation activities are easily facilitated by the convenience of facilities, transportation,...

Taking advantage of this, Ho Chi Minh City has draw much attention from investors with the goal of building a start-up city for young people. At the end of March, 2017, the Vietnam Youth Union of Ho Chi Minh City, the Association of Vietnamese Students, the Young Businessmen Association launched the "Youth Start-up Program, Ho Chi Minh City - The City of Young Entrepreneurship."

"The City of Young Entrepreneurship" aims at building a place where creative young people contribute their creative ideas openly to the community. In addition, it is a well-grounded city from the mechanism to the resources where could help young people to turn their ideas into reality, contribute to local economic development. It also helps young person who comes up with new business models and seeks for the feasibility of their products / service or model of start-up,... "The City of Young Entrepreneurship" standard is a highly developed and highly inclusive start-up ecosystem that create a cohesive, connecting and motivating community that helps young entrepreneurs advance their strengths.

It could be said that at this time, start-up models and start-up activities in Ho Chi Minh City are taking place in various forms, attracting the attention of many organizations, individuals, especially the participation of young people and students, make up the entrepreneurial movement. With the help of the Saigon Hi-Tech Park Center, many start-up was established. Many groups of students and businesses have grown and commercialized their products from incubation activities at the nursery of the Information Technology Park - Ho Chi Minh City National University, Saigon Hi-Tech Park Incubation Center…

The workshop: "The Fourth Industrial Revolution - Opportunities for Startups?" was held at 18:00 pm on Monday, 28 August, 2017 at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology at 268 Ly Thuong Kiet, District 10. The workshop was attended by two well-known speakers: Mr. Nguyen Huu Thai Hoa - Vice Chairman of VNPT Strategic Advisory Group and Mr. Pham Tran Anh, Deputy General Director, Corporate Customers and Microsoft Vietnam strategic partner. The two presenters will share openly their views on how to be successful when starting a business, especially before the trend of the 4th Industrial Revolution is spreading, strongly influenced today.

The workshop was held at the time of the Vietnam Talent Awards 2017 entering the entry stage, this will bring the most useful information to the entrepreneur, startup businesses are on the way to develop their projects.
