Vietnam Talent Awards: Big opportunities for students!

In workshop, many open questions had been given to the guests. Assoc. prof Huynh Quyet Thang - Member of the board of judges of the Vietnam Talent Awards in IT replied to the question: "Are there general characteristics for products that won the Awards?"

“The Vietnam Talent Awards has been held for 13 years.  I think there are three factors that make a good product: Firstly, big idea - which decides whether the product can have a good position in the market or not. Therefore, the idea must be unique and offers unique benefit that other similar ideas do not have. Secondly, it is the passion and the desire to bring that idea into reality that matters. Thirdly, it’s the careful preparation in the process of product production and development, application form submission, and product presentation in front of the Board of Judges. " Assoc. prof Huynh Quyet Thang shared.

Besides, Associate Professor Huynh Quyet Thang also believed that, the Vietnam Talent Awards not only is a success launcher for startups but also opens up many great opportunities for the students who took part in the competition

"When we create a product, we go through the whole process from conception to product creation and presentation. The process will equip students with teamworking and presenting skills. Being enthusiastic about an idea to participate in the Awards means better convergence of skills, so that they can later work for companies. I firmly believe that when we have a product presented to a large corporation like VNPT, common questions ask where they got the idea from and how they developed it will be raised. After the product development process, they will be equipped with necessary skills to develop their career. They will be confident enough to apply for jobs and they will be offered better position in big corporations, "said Associate Professor Huynh Quyet Thang.

The eruption era of startups!

As a strategic consultant, Mr. Nguyen Huu Thai Hoa had his point of view: Startups are having a tremendous opportunity to gain global access to an intelligent industry and to the age of public revolution: the Fourth Industrial Revolution. In the next 10 years, it would be a boom era of startup, provided that we repositioned startups. We must have a strategy to develop startups.

However, Vietnam needs new technological solutions to help develop and increase the competitiveness of enterprises. According to Mr. Nguyen Huu Thai Hoa, for Vietnam to lead in the 4.0 industrial era, it is important to change the mindset of the Vietnamese, the youth, the startup community. The tools and things we see and experience in the information age are not as important as the way we change our mindset, taking advantage of the opportunity of developing on an information technology platform to open up the future for startups.

It would be wrong to understand that to start a business is to make money, to drop out of school to sell coffee ... And "the most important thing to in starting a business is to create a knowledge roadmap. They have to pack the knowledge from the school, from the society, so that when time comes, they are ready, " he shared.

According to Mr Nguyen Huu Thai Hoa, the new wind that VNPT Group as well as the startup professionals want to blow into the startup community through the Workshop: "The Fourth Industrial Revolution- Opportunities for Startups?" is the professional working, seriousness and standards for startups. When Vietnamese standards for start-ups are set and applied, we have a very different future for start-ups.
