With the introduction of Mobile and Connected IT Products as a new prize category,  Vietnam Talent Awards 2017 is expected to create a playground to brace up the trend of the fourth industrial revolution.

To understand the new feature of Vietnam Talent Awards this year as well as the orientation and strategy of Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT Group)  and the Corporation of Communications (VNPT-Media) in the trend of the Industrial Revolution 4.0, we would like to introduce the interview of Dr. Nguyen Van Tan, Deputy General Director of VNPT-Media.

As the Vice Chairman of the Vietnamese Talent Awards 2007 Organizing Committee, can you share about the difference of this year's awards system, of which Mobile and Connected IT Products being introduced as a new category?

The growth of information technology ushers in a range of smart products, which are increasingly made available for the development of socio-economic life. Most notable progress includes Internet of Things (IoT - Internet connecting everything) with the increasing number of connections.

The IoT network is becoming a growing technological trend worldwide, having wide applications in many aspects of the future, including IT. The development of IoT can dramatically improve the efficiency of productivity and capacity, deploying large amounts of high-speed data that can be transmitted over Internet protocols. Following these trends, Vietnam Talent Awards 2017 were launched under the theme "Innovative Technology - Smart Connectivity”, which has introduced Mobile and Connected IT Products as a new prize category. The new category is expected to create a platform for all contestants to take the lead in the fourth Industrial Revolution while encouraging and honoring IT products that incorporate new technologies (AI, IoT, Big Data...) to create intelligent products on all devices that serve different aspects of lives.

Being the co-organizer as well as the key sponsor of the Vietnam Talent Awards, what could VNPT do to facilitate in technical and technological aspects for the candidates who want to participate in the Mobile and Connected IT products category?

VNPT Group has been establishing broadband and super-broadband network, both fixed and mobile system. Up to now, VNPT has over 5 million fiber-optic cable subscribers, more than 30 million mobile subscribers and is fostering 4G technology nationwide, creating a smart broadband network, smart connection as well as providing intelligent services and utilities, smart IT applications and innovative administration solutions. These are the steps VNPT has taken to create super-broadband infrastructures for VNPT's clients as well as other socio-economic sectors.

On that basis, the new technologies choosen by VNPT to operate his wireline  and broadband networks will create not only a super-broad but also smart broadband infrastructure for various services. Besides, VNPT also develops IoT Platform, which is ready to connect equipments and devices of different fields.

Can you reveal the core strategy that helps VNPT-Media catch up with the trend of Industrial Revolution 4.0?

In the fourth industrial revolution, technology is at the core of every business strategy. VNPT-Media set forth our strategy of development basing on four core values: human resource as the key, customers as the focus, non-stop creativity, and reliable partners with the goal of building Vietnam’s largest technology-based and internet-based eco-system that fully integrates multimedia services, thereby bringing our products and services to the international market. Enterprises will become specialized if they can utilize the power of information technology to create more competitive edges than other businesses as they need to analyze data at every point of contact with customers.

In the field of IT, smart infrastructure, smart connectivity, and intelligent services will become the keys to unlock the potentials of the Industrial Revolution 4.0.

With the aim to provide customers with smart systems capable of analyzing, evaluating and forecasting customer experience, VNPT-Media has developed VAS Cloud , which is an ecosystem platform on cloud computing infrastructure for VNPT's value added services, with a wide range of services catering to various demands, such as entertainment, on-demand television (MyTV, MobileTV, OTT, etc.), digital content and multimedia.

In particular, VNPT-Media has demonstrated the capability to master base technologies when successfully applying advanced techniques to our new key services: Big data (data mining) , CeeMe (high-quality image, real-time live streaming)… VNPT-Media will also launch products and services on the BigData platform such as credit scoring for customers in the personal and consumer finance sector, financial technology (FinTech), customer segmentation… These applications will shift the Corporation into the direction of VAS 3.0, which is to create more services for the society. It can be said that our value-added and content services on VNPT's VinaPhone network are at the same level with those in developed countries.

vnEdu - Educational software and network is now being deployed in 12,000 schools across the country. We are continuing to upgrade our services to provide a more comprehensive solution to the smart education, in other words, to accelerate the application of ICT in teaching and learning.
