A 12-Year highlights of the Vietnamese Talent Awards
08:59, 30/05/2017The Vietnamese Talent Awards was initiated by the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education in 2005. Today, the award is jointly held by Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) and DantriNews, under the media sponsorship of VNPT-Media. In 2017, the Award embarks in its 13th year of establishment and growth, with multiple changes and expansion.

The biggest Information Technology award in Vietnam
Until today, the Vietnamese Talent Awards has been the biggest Information Technology award in Vietnam. It is also the only Award that is held and sponsored by a State Corporation (VNPT).
The Vietnamese Talent Awards is the most open award in Vietnam
The Vietnamese Talent Awards is an open award, with participants coming from all walk of life, ranging from non-professionals to professionals, Vietnamese at home and abroad, and people of all ages. The Vietnamese Talent Awards is a society's award, organized for and by the society.
The Judging Board works independently from the Organizing Board and always strive to deliver fair and stringent assessment that meets the criteria for IT products.
With a Judging Board comprising of leading scientists and experts in IT, all entry products are considered and analyzed thoroughly prior to the selection of winners. The only determining factor in the Judging Board's decision is the quality of the products.
The Vietnamese Talent Awards - A success launcher for IT talents
The Vietnamese Talent Awards has truly become a strong success launcher for Vietnamese intellects to shine and rise as well as to compete with the world talents. Among numerous IT products winning the Vietnamese Talent Awards, many of them have earned solid stand in the international market, presenting the voice and intellectual power of Vietnamese. Winning products at the Vietnamese Talent Awards have met the expectations of the Organizing Board, the Judging Board, and the public: "Vietnamese Talents should be the world talents as well". Following are some of the most successful stories:
• At Google I/O in 2017, Money Lover - a personal financial management app from Vietnam, was nominated as one of the five best mobile apps. The app, which was the winner of IT product on mobiles at VTA, marked the first time an app from Vietnam received such a nomination.
• MIMAS - The first prize winner of VTA 2010 was listed in the Top 5 IT Startup Enterprises in Pacific Asia.
• CENTECH - The first prize winner of VTA 2013 was voted in the Top 100 Global Tech Companies 2013 by the US magazine Red Herring.
The Vietnamese Talent Awards - Contribution in honoring the leading scientists
Since 2009, the Vietnamese Talent Awards has expanded its award category to Natural Science and continued to add new categories such as Health & Medical and Environment in the following years. With the Vietnamese Talent Awards, a great number of experts and scientists in the fields of applied sciences have been honored, and multiple research has been put into practice. Honored researchers and their products in Applied Science have demonstrated the position of Vietnam in the global marketplace.
In 2013, the Health & Medical Award was given to Assoc. Prof. Ph.D. Nguyen Viet Tien - Director General of National Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology - Deputy Minister of Health - the chairman of the project "Research on the application of high technologies in the diagnosis and treatment of infertility in Vietnam". The application shown that the techniques studied in the project had higher success ratios compared to those applied in Thailand or Singapore.
Another noteworthy example is the winner of the 2011 Natural Science Award - Prof. Ph.D. Tran Duc Thiep and Prof. Ph.D. Nguyen Van Do, from the Institute of Physics, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, with the project "Research on nuclear structure and nuclear reactions". This study shed light on the nuclear structure and nuclear reaction mechanism as well as provided numerous valuable nuclear statistics to The nuclear statistics repository. In 2009, the Natural Science Award was given to Prof. Ph.D. Ngo Viet Trung - Director General of the Institute of Mathematics, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology. The researcher successfully completed a number of studies on Commutative algebra.
The list goes on, and above is only a few of various Vietnamese scientists and talents that have been honored in the international stage.
The kick-off announcement for The Vietnamese Talent Awards 2017 with the theme "Innovative technology, smart connectivity" will be held at 9 a.m on May 30, 2017, at the Headquarters of VNPT Group - 57 Huynh Thuc Khang. The announcement will be attended by representatives from the Judging Board, the Organizing Board, The main sponsor, other sponsors, scientists, the press, and media as well as enterprises working in the fields of IT, Science, Health, Environment, along with interested members of the public. The announcement will be broadcasted live on Channel 802 of MyTV, fan page of the Vietnamese Talent Awards, and VnMedia. |
