VNPT completes area code change for 23 provinces in Phrase 2
14:39, 17/04/2017According to the proposed plan, on April 15, 2017 (01 day after the notice period for 13 provinces, cities implementing area code change on February 11, 2017 in phase 1), VNPT continued to conduct area code change in phase 2 for 23 provinces and cities. This change would be performed within 01 month. Phone users can still dial both the new and the former codes within 30 days subsequent to the change time. Notices of the area code change will be carried out in the next 01 month. In case phone users dial the former codes, there will be instructions for re-dialing.
VNPT said that internal service trial-run in the company had occurred in line with the projected plan. Two-way trial-runs with other businesses such as Viettel, MobiFone, Gtel, CMC, VTC, FPT and Vietnamobile also delivered successful results. Phone subscribers can simultaneously dial the former and the new codes until 23.59 May 14, 2017, and listen to notices of area code change until 23.59 June 16, 2017.
