VNPT-Media commits to support Vietnam Startups
09:46, 24/11/2016Over the past years, VNPT has worked on numerous programs and activities to foster ICT development in Vietnam, support young enterprises and help nurture the country’s talents. Among these activities, the most outstanding one is its cooperation with DanTri Newspaper to organize and sponsor the Vietnamese Talent Awards. In the last 12 years, VNPT has spent VND18 billion on sponsorship for this Awards.
This year, VNPT-Media, as a leading member of VNPT in the fields of communications, television, and value-added services, has officially become a partner with DanTri Newspaper to hold the Vietnamese Talent Awards 2016. With the goal to be “A companion for Startups”, VNPT-Media’s CEO Ngo Dien Hy has reaffirmed the company’s commitment to support Startups in developing and promoting their products.
VNPT-Media’s CEO Ngo Dien Hy: “In the early business stage of Startups, VNPT-Media would like to be an initial investor to assist Startups in their product development process. Once their products are commercialized, we hope to help Startups call for the engagement of other investors…”
In 2016, VNPT-Media has cooperated with relevant agencies to organize series of conferences and forums, which were great opportunities for young people to exchange ideas and learn startup experience from successful entrepreneurs nationwide. Through these programs, VNPT-Media has been creating opportunities that allow more useful products to be released to the community. Particularly, VNPT-Media will invest in selected startups that are in line with its development orientation in areas such as: digital content services, value-added services, communications and television, etc.
At the meeting with the Finalists of the Vietnamese Talent Awards in IT sector, VNPT-Media’s CEO Ngo Dien Hy shared that he had already found a number of potential products that capture VNPT-Media's attention. The comprehensive solution for CAM 9 surveillance cameras from VP9 Vietnam JSC is one of those products. VNPT-Media is currently the biggest IPTV television service provider in Vietnam (MyTV) and has recently deployed its livestreaming service. Thus, the technology of video/image encryption and compression with extreme high definition from VP 9 can be applied in VNPT-Media’s services to improve user experience. The two parties can also collaborate to foster the development of this technology.
Another noticeable product is “SMCC - The semantic analysis and social networks interactive management system” from InfoRe JSC – a solution utilizing new technology such as Big Data and Deep Learning. Both VNPT and VNPT-Media have enormous databases that need to be connected, examined, analyzed and retrieved to produce useful information in business activities. VNPT-Media hopes all parties can collaborate and deploy their products and solutions in the earliest opportunity.
