Vietnam Airlines and VNPT to Deploy In-Flight Internet Services
The IFC (In-Flight Connectivity) service will be deployed for the Airbus A350 fleet. In the first phase, the service will be installed on 10 Airbus A350 aircraft — a modern aircraft lineup operating long-haul international routes to the U.S., Europe, and some domestic routes of Vietnam Airlines.
Mr. To Dung Thai, Chairman of the Board of VNPT Group, shared: "VNPT is committed to closely coordinating with Vietnam Airlines to deliver the best experience for passengers when using Internet connection services onboard. We believe this is a very promising foundation for Vietnam Airlines to expand IFC services across its entire fleet, contributing to the development of a modern aviation ecosystem that meets international standards.”

The service is set to be deployed from July 2025, marking a significant milestone in Vietnam Airlines’ digital transformation roadmap and passenger experience improvement. It is expected that, by 2026, Vietnam Airlines will extend this service to its entire fleet, providing seamless connectivity for millions of passengers each year.
With the latest advances in aviation connectivity technology, the Internet speed on Vietnam Airlines flights is projected to achieve a service availability of 99%, meeting the needs for work, entertainment, and continuous passenger connectivity throughout the flight.
Previously, in 2024, the two parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation, outlining the roadmap for implementing IFC services on both international and domestic flights. This included completing legal procedures, installing equipment, configuring software, and supporting operations.
