VNPT Pay has launched the feature to top up VETC accounts
In order to bring best
services to customers, VNPT Pay has officially launched a new feature - Top-up
VETC account, bringing smart driving experience to users. This feature allows
customers to recharge their traffic accounts to use the non-stop toll service
provided by VETC on VNPT Pay transaction channels.
From December 31, 2020 all road toll collection stations must switch to electronic non-stop toll collection, pursuant to the Prime Minister’s Decision No.19/2020 on electronic non-stop toll collection for road usage. VETC partner is currently the only unit of the Tasco -VETC joint venture assigned by the Directorate for Roads of Vietnam (NE) - the Ministry of Transport to deploy and operate the automatic toll collection system ETC in Vietnam. Non-stop toll collection service is a form of automatic toll collection which allows road vehicles not need to stop to pay tolls upon arrival at the toll booth. Accordingly, a vehicle is affixed with an E-Tag identification card; the traffic participant registers a traffic account and recharges this account to pay fees. When the vehicle passes through a non-stop toll booth, the system will automatically scan the E-Tag and deduct the money in the traffic account.
Under the cooperation with VETC, VNPT Pay allows customers to recharge their traffic accounts to use the non-stop toll collection products provided by VETC on VNPT Pay transaction channels.
Representative of VNPT Pay said, VNPT Pay has started cooperating with VETC since January 2021. From 7/1/2021, customers can access VNPT Pay app to top up their traffic account through connecting with VETC. The benefits of customers being able to top up their traffic accounts from the source of money from their wallets, bank cards instead of having to join other payment channels are: Simple operation and competitive fees, only 0.88% for with money from wallet.
Customers log into VNPT Pay application to use the service; Enter the traffic account number for the VETC system to check and enter the amount to be loaded into the traffic account, go through the payment process, then VNPT Pay sends the request to the VETC system for accounting.
