Internet Day 2017: VNPT-Media honored in Top 10 Digital app & content enterprises

The Internet Day 2017 event and the 20-year Internet Vietnam Ceremony held by Vietnam Internet Association (VIA) on November 22nd 2017 in Hanoi had attracted the attention of the Telecommunication and Information community in particular, and the whole society in general. Attending the ceremony was the leaders from the Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC), Vietnam Posts & Telecommunications Group (VNPT), and other organizations.

In the last 20 years, Internet has contributed to the change in every areas of daily life, greatly adding to the achievements of all fields like economics, society, culture, education... Internet became a new positive wind that helped to create momentum for the economic integration progress of the nation. Vietnam has marked her traces in the global Internet map, not only due to the accurate direction and open policy of the State, but also due to the contribution of Internet enterprises and the continuous research of experts in the ICT sector.

At the ceremony, the Ministry of Information and Communication acknowledged the contribution of enterprises to the development of Vietnam Internet and honored enterprises and individuals that were voted to be "mostly influential in the development of Vietnam Internet in the last 10 years". The result came from the votes of Vietnamese ICT journalists, VIA's member enterprises and newspaper readers.

VNPT Media Corporation was voted into the top 10 digital application and content enterprises with greatest influence to Vietnam Internet - from the list of 16 nominated digital application and content enterprises. Other top 10 enterprises were VTC Intecom, VNG, Viettel Media, FPT Online, NextTech, Nhaccuatui.com, Tiki.vn, VCCorp, and Topica.

VNPT  was also voted into the Top 5 enterprises with greatest influence to Vietnam Internet, together with the other four enterprises being Viettel, FPT Telecom, Mobifone and CMC. In term of individual, Mr. Tran Manh Hung, Chairman of VNPT's Board of Members was voted into the Top 10 individuals with greatest influence to Vietnam Internet in the last 10 years. Other 9 individuals were: Mr. Mai Liem Truc, Former Vice Minister of Information and Communication; Mr. Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of FPT's Board of Management; Mr. Nguyen Trung Chinh, Chairman of CMC's Board of Management; Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, General Director of Viettel; Mr. Vu Hoang Lien, VIA Chairman; Mr. Le Hong Minh, Chairman of VNG; Mr. Nguyen Tu Quang, Chairman of BKAV; Mr. Le Nam Thang, Former Vice Minister of Information and Communication; Mr. Thang Duc Thang, Chief Editor of VnExpress.

The nominating and voting progress were conducted following the criteria: individuals and enterprises that had remarkable and effective contribution about strategy and policy to the development of Vietnam Internet; remarkable contribution in raising the number of Internet subscribers, providing accessible Internet service to the people; remarkable contribution to a safe Internet environment; remarkable to the build of a fairly competitive environment for Internet business in Vietnam...

On the side of the event, VNPT group organized an exhibition in the center area. With many services and products being introduced, the exhibition attracted much attention from event guests, enterprises and partners.
