Officially launched in 2009, MyTV television, a brand of  VNPT group, is one of the leading services that have started the era of television-on-demand in Vietnam. After 8 years of development, MyTV is leading the IPTV market with nearly 1.1 million subscribers.

In 2009, VNPT's MyTV service was officially launched as one of the first IPTV services in Vietnam,

opening a new era in the field of domestic television-on-demand. By allowing users to rewind, record content for later playback, block programs for children and enjoy a huge variety of entertainment content such as Movies, Music Videos, Comedy, Karaoke, programs for children ..., MyTV quickly attracted the attention of customers. Within a year of launching, MyTV had half a million subscribers.

In 8 years of establishment and development, MyTV has constantly innovated herself to meet customers’ tastes, from constantly adding channels, adding new categories, new / hot programs (most recently CeeShow, Free Movies ...) to the introduction of new technologies for clearer picture quality, as well as adding new features that allow users to record, read more on many different handsets…

 

The rich content content on MyTV

With the popularity of smartphones and mobile internet in Vietnam today, mobile subscribers not only watch news but also tend to watch TV on mobile devices. In order to meet this demand, in 2017 VNPT launched MyTV Mobile service exclusively for mobile users. VinaPhone subscribers can view famous channels like Qnet, VTC and HTV directly on their smartphones without having to pay 3G / 4G data fee. Image quality is guaranteed so users can enjoy smooth video content with sharp display quality.

At the beginning of June 2017, the "Recommendation" feature was added to MyTV. With this feature, subscribers can instantly update new content or switch channels easily and quickly. This feature has been deployed on many TV channels and My TV’s Movie service.

As a result, although the domestic pay-TV market has been fiercely competitive, from its launching to the present, MyTV has always maintained the leading position in the IPTV market. From a service of only 36 channels, MyTV now has nearly 200 television channels, including more than 30 HD channels and MyTV is currently the third largest paid TV service provider in Vietnam (with nearly 1.2 million subscribers), becoming the companion of audiences all over the country.

Along with the development of technology, customers now have a lot of options for television-on-demand, such as watching on Smart TVs or on Smart Boxes  (devices that help TVs have features like smartTV).

  In response to this demand, VNPT has researched and tested to integrate MyTV service on several popular kinds of Smart TVs and Smart Boxes. Currently, VNPT has completed the development of MyTV application for Smart TVs running on popular operating systems such as Android, HTML5, Tizen and for Smart Boxes. The service will be available to customers in the near future.
