VNPT-Media provides financial services for VietBank
On August 28th 2018, VNPT Media Corporation (VNPT-Media) and Vietnam Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank (VietBank) signed a cooperation agreement on the provision of digital financial services and the opening of an electronic payment channel. This cooperation is considered to be a tremendous opportunity for both sides to provide digital solutions for customers without bank accounts - as well as provide customers with many new financial products.
On August 28th 2018, VNPT Media Corporation (VNPT-Media) and Vietnam Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank (VietBank) signed a cooperation agreement on the provision of digital financial services and the opening of an electronic payment channel. The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Pham Duc Long - VNPT's General Director, Mr. Nghiem Phu Hoan - a member of VNPT's Board of Management, Mr. Huynh Quang Liem - VNPT's Deputy General Director, Mrs. Tran Thi Lam - President of Hoa Lam Group's Board of Management, Mr. Duong Ngoc Hoa - President of VietBank and Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nhung - General Director of VietBank.

This cooperation is considered to be a tremendous opportunity for both sides to provide digital solutions for customers without bank accounts - as well as provide customers with many new financial products which the traditional financial system couldn't provide or could only provide at a high cost.
According to the signed cooperation agreement, VNPT Pay-VietBank intermediate collection service allows customers to recharge and pay for goods and services provided by VNPT and service providers in cooperation with VNPT via VietBank's diversified payment channel system.
VNPT Pay-VietBank payment service allows customers to recharge and pay for goods and services provided by VNPT and service providers in cooperation with VNPT via the payment channel system developed by VNPT-Media.
VNPT Pay-Vietbank payment service will provide a payment tool in the form of an electronic account which support users to input and withdraw money into an e-wallet and use their wallet balance to purchase goods, recharge phone account balance and pay bills right on VNPT Pay application. To pay online via VNPT Pay, customers need only to have accounts at the 34 banks that VNPT Pay is linked to and make payment through VNPT Pay's website (www.vnptpay.vn) or download VNPT Pay application to their mobile devices.
The cooperation between VNPT-Media and VietBank will help customers to conveniently pay for VNPT's existing services such as telecommunication fees, VnEdu tuition fees, VNPT-His hospital fees, I- Gate .... Customers in remote areas can experience financial services in a simple and convenient way which is still abiding by the confidentiality regime set by the State Bank of Vietnam.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Huynh Quang Liem, VNPT's Deputy General Director and Chairman of VNPT-Media Corporation, said: "With the outstanding advantages of the two organization on large customer bases, extensive sales channel network, highly qualified staff, this corporation will certainly be effective for both parties and contribute positively to the development of the new digital economy that has begun to form in Vietnam."
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nhung, General Director of Vietbank said: "The cooperation between Vietbank and VNPT-Media Corporation is an important step to take advantage of the strengths of both sides in activities aiming at customer base development as well as to strengthen the multi-aspect cooperation relationship that ensures the interests of both parties in the future."
In the coming time, VNPT-Media and VietBank will also provide other digital financial services such as credit scoring, credit loan, finding potential customers... These services will be customized following each party's strengths in terms of data, technology and licenses.
On the occasion of the signing ceremony, VNPT Media Corporation and Vietnam Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank launched 2 promotion programs that would last for 6 weeks (from September 10th 2018 to October 21st 2018).
VNPT is currently one of two network providers which are licensed to provide intermediary payment services. The group has a large number of customers (more than 30 million) as well as a network of more than 100,000 agencies from urban areas to rural areas where people do not have many opportunities to access financial services.
