HDBank collaborates with VNPT-Media to bring banking services closer to the people.
HDBank officially launched its payment agent service—a correspondent banking model—at nearly 900 transaction points of the Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) nationwide.
This initiative helps bring modern financial and banking services closer to the people.
The program is implemented under a cooperation agreement between HDBank and Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Corporation (VNPT-Media)—a member of the Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT). VNPT-Media is the unit assigned by VNPT to deploy payment agent services across VNPT’s nationwide network of transaction points.
Through the payment agent service—a correspondent banking model—people can conduct many HDBank banking services directly at VNPT transaction points, such as: inquiring about opening payment accounts and issuing cards; depositing and withdrawing cash; paying credit card bills; transferring money; and other banking services as stipulated in Circular 07/2024 of the State Bank of Vietnam.
This model further strengthens HDBank’s strategy to expand access channels for financial services, thereby promoting inclusive finance and improving service delivery to the people, especially in rural and remote areas.
Previously, HDBank also implemented many solutions to promote digital finance and improve access to banking services. The bank collaborated with the Research and Application Center for Population Data and Citizen Identification (RAR)—under the Ministry of Public Security—to integrate the VNeID electronic identification system into the HDBank application. This enables customers to open accounts quickly and securely online, without paperwork.
The deployment of HDBank’s payment agent service—a modern digital bank—at VNPT’s direct transaction points system also expands opportunities for cooperation between the two sides in developing financial and digital technology solutions. This helps improve customer experience and supports the development of Vietnam’s digital economy and digital society.
