VNPT participates in building a smart university at Hanoi National University
On the afternoon of November 25, Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) and Hanoi National University (VNU) officially signed a cooperation agreement for the period 2025–2030.
According to the agreement, the two sides will jointly implement many key programs in the fields of: human resource training, research and development (R&D), innovation, and the development of digital university models.
In the areas of education, training, and human resource development, the two sides will coordinate to build undergraduate and postgraduate programs that meet the practical needs of VNPT; promote short-term and in-depth training for the group’s staff, engineers, and technical experts. At the same time, the internship mechanism, recruitment, and development of high-quality human resources from VNU for the VNPT ecosystem will be expanded. Online learning platforms, distance-learning models, and project-based learning will also be researched and implemented by both sides.
Regarding scientific and technological cooperation, VNPT and VNU will focus on highly applicable research directions such as artificial intelligence (AI), big data, robotics, automation, cloud computing, information security, and digital transformation in key industries.
An important direction of cooperation is to coordinate the "commercialization" of research results, bringing scientific and technological products into business practices and social life.
Notably, VNPT will accompany VNU in developing telecommunications and information technology infrastructure to build a smart university in the VNU urban area in Hoa Lac (Hanoi). This includes deploying smart university management platforms, digital labs, digital classrooms, and Digital Twin solutions to support the optimization of training, research, and administration activities.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Minh Son, Chairman of the Council and Director of VNU, stated that the signing between VNU and VNPT is a strategic milestone, realizing the spirit of "Accompanying - Creating - Developing" in connecting schools with businesses, knowledge with practice, research with production, and training with the high-quality labor market.
With the prestige, capacity, and innovative spirit of each side, the goal of VNPT and VNU is to cooperate to create breakthrough values, contributing to the advancement of science, technology, and education.
VNPT General Director Huynh Quang Liem said that VNPT is committed to accompanying the university in a substantial, continuous, and effective manner with specific actions and plans to turn today’s agreement into a model of cooperation between businesses and schools in the digital age. "This cooperation not only has bilateral value but also practical significance for the country, contributing to the development of highly qualified human resources, the building of an advanced university model, and the promotion of the Vietnamese innovation ecosystem," Mr. Huynh Quang Liem emphasized.
