VNPT aims to achieve digital transformation alongside green transformation
In the context of climate change and the increasing need for sustainable development, telecommunications service providers (telcos) are promoting the trend of green transformation. In that trend, along with the roadmap of transformation from a telco to a techco, VNPT Group is also aiming for the goal of green transformation to ensure sustainable development.

The challenges of climate change are placing increasing demands on the environmental responsibility of every country, organization, and business around the world. Net Zero has become an indispensable factor in many countries to realize the goal of sustainable development. Currently, 120 countries and over 200 global companies have committed to implementing Net Zero, with the technology, media, and telecommunications industry playing a crucial role in this movement.
The majority of emissions from telecommunications companies often come from external sources including networks, retail electronic equipment and IT-related emissions within their supply chain (materials, cables, fuel and services). Notably, data traffic processing consumes a large amount of energy resulting in significant emissions. Data centers - a key service provided by the telecommunications industry - currently consume nearly 3% of total global electricity. With an expected dramatic increase in demand for data storage and data centers leading to greater electricity consumption.

Additionally; as deployment of 5G requires construction/installation of numerous base stations/ network equipment/fiber optic cabling leading to further increased emissions. To address this challenge, the International Telecommunication Union, the Global e-Sustainability Initiative and the GSMA have developed a scientific roadmap to achieve net zero emissions.
In Vietnam, digital technology and digital transformation are expected to be the driving force for the success of the green economic model transformation, realizing strategic goals on green growth. Many policies for dual transformation have been issued by Vietnam. These include the "National Strategy for the Development of Digital Economy and Digital Society to 2025, with a Vision to 2030" to improve access to digital infrastructure with 5G services, the "National Strategy on Green Growth for the 2021-2030 Period, Vision to 2050" and "National Action Plan on Green Growth for the 2021-2030 Period"
To put policies into practice, businesses need to get involved. More than ever, the pioneering role of state-owned economic groups needs to be promoted, demonstrating their irreplaceable role in the sustainable development of society and the country.
VNPT aims for the digital transformation associated with Net Zero

The company's AI applies the latest technologies meets international standards and is entirely mastered by Vietnamese engineers; thus it has the ability to change adaptively according to specific needs and conditions in Vietnam.
