The traces of VNPT-Media in 2017's value-added service market

As one of the leading enterprises in the fields of television, communication, digital content, value-added and IT services, in the 2017, VNPT Media Corporation (VNPT-Media) had provided many useful value-added, content and IT to its customers.

Following are some of the outstanding achievements of VNPT-Media - a subsidiary of Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) in 2017.

Launching MyTV Net on multiple platforms

2017 was considered a difficult year for MyTV service facing with the explosive growth of smart devices and the harsh competition in the pay television sector. To create the attractiveness of the service, VNPT-Media had set the goal to simplify the service's usage and experience, create differences and protect the corporation's customer base. VNPT-Media continuously upgraded, improved existing MyTV platforms, and launched new software, products and services.

 

 

Speaking at the 2018 Planning Conference of VNPT-Media Corporation, Mr. Pham Duc Long, VNPT's General Director praised and appreciated the corporation's achievements in 2017. VNPT-Media had set clear development objectives and sharp strategies. In addition, Mr. Pham Duc Long also straightly pointed the shortcomings that VNPT-Media will have to overcome in 2018. According to Mr. Pham Duc Long, VNPT-Media needs to build the tools to measure customers' service experience.

Especially, one of VNPT-Media's important milestones was the development of a complete OTV technology system called MyTV Net. The system was licensed by the Ministry of Information and Communications to provide internet-based radio and television services on August 5th 2017. This is the technology that was researched and deployed by VNPT-Media's own engineers. The application can run on many platforms such as Android Mobile, Box / TV, IOS and can run on large smart TV series such as Samsung, LG, Panasonic..., promising to provide a whole new experience to the customers. By the end of 2017, the total number of MyTV Net's users was nearly 1 million.

In addition, service content development continued to be strengthened to meet the increasingly diverse needs of the customers such as adding new packages: Fafilm, Danet, Film + ... Up to now, MyTV has  provided almost all channels of VTV, VTVCab, K +, VTC, HCaTV and HTVC. Other promotion and customer care programs also received the corporation's focus. In 2017, 120 promotion programs and 2018 Planning Conference had been implemented...

Optimizing the deployment of new Big Data-based value-added services

Facing with the harsh competition from the value-added market and the increasing demands from customers, besides maintaining the efficiency of traditional value-added services and deploying promotional programs, VNPT-Media optimized potential existing value-added services by creating new features based on the Big Data platform, upgrading UI / UX to match modern trends, upgrading hardware and content infrastructure to provide customers with the image quality and sound quality equivalent to the quality of VNPT's 3G / 4G infrastructure.

Moreover, VNPT-Media transformed its media approach to utilize the input data from Big Data to promote its services to the right target audience. In addition, the corporation also supported VNPT-VinaPhone in marketing VinaPhone's services and fee package.

One of the important milestones of VNPT-Media in 2017 was the development of the complete television system with OTV technology – MyTV Net.

Considering Big Data-based service group as the key group to bring high revenue in the future, in 2017, VNPT-Media continuously optimized and expanded utility features for this service group, such as Payment service, Big Data telco services (Mobile marketing research, Myshopbrand, Vinasales ...). The corporation also made the first steps to the field of Big Data non-telco services (such as CIS, CallRef).

In term of the strategy focusing on upgrading and developing value-added services, 2017 also marked the success of VNPT-Media in the role of deploying, operating and exploiting VNPT's VAS Cloud system. In 2017, VasCloud's monthly revenue growth rate was 125%.

VNPT-Media also innovated and promoted its B2B products and services. LBA service was a typical market penetration success for VNPT-Media in this field. 

Focusing on the development of IT services

The education network vnEdu continued to be improved in service quality with its system being upgraded and many new features being implemented.  By 2017, the network was used by 12,000 schools and over 650,000 teachers nationwide, providing more than 2,4 million electronic schoolbooks (doubling 2016's statistic), nearly 5 million student records (increasing by 1.2 million compared to 2016). The educational platform vnEdu 2.0 has been developed and introduced to customers in many regions. Local immunization applications, VNPT-iOffice had also been built, upgraded and deployed in many provinces and cities nationwide, meeting the requirements set out, contributing to the enrichment of VNPT's IT ecosystem.

 

 

Receiving the steering guidance of Mr. Pham Duc Long, VNPT's General Director, Mr. Ngo Dien Hy - General Director of VNPT-Media stated that:  With the slogan "Transformation - Acceleration - Breakthrough - Effectiveness", to build VNPT-Media in the era of "Digital Transformation" following the direction of VNPT 3.0 strategy, VNPT-Media will continue to unite, stay active and creative, determine to turn challenges and risks into the corporation's motivation and opportunities in the new stage.
